Jeff Rhine

April 1, 2018

Jeff Rhine, long-time member of GSA and West Midlands Branch, passed away in March.

Jeff was one of the quieter members of the crew but always had something interesting to add to a conversation. This came from his extremely active life elsewhere, particularly relating to his faith.

We sailed together several times, notably on a leg of the “Round Britain Crews”. Our leg was from Fishguard to Holyhead and I decided that it should be via Ireland rather than just hopping along the coast. We were blessed with good weather throughout and highlights included being guided into Wexford by “Silvester, retired assistant harbourmaster”, invited to tour the Wicklow lifeboat and witnessing the end of the Round Ireland Race.

GSA was represented at the funeral.
